Nehemiah prayed in Nehemiah 1:6 “Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned. (KJV)
Nehemiah was about motivating the people of Israel to be faithful to God, and then helping them to become organized, so they could accomplish the task of rebuilding the city wall of Jerusalem. During this rebuilding he was faced with strong opposition, but they succeeded and the building of the wall was finished in 52 days! How was Nehemiah able to get this extraordinary job done? He was a man of prayer, Prayer was a part of his daily life, no matter what; which resulted in God's power in his life.
Waiting can seem endless at times, but be assured that God is working things out. Keep your prayers (your words) in line with what you are waiting and hoping for from the Lord. Encourage yourself with the promises of God and hold on to them with all your might and speak them with your mouth. David wrote in Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” (KJV) Do not give up in your wait. God is faithful. Keep praying; wait on Him, put your hope in Him and expect from the LORD! May we humble ourselves before the Lord and ask Him to help us to develop a life of continual prayer.
Prayer is the key and FAITH unlocks the doors.
