As I began to ponder on that I began to realize how often we grumble, complain and get angry as Believers because God doesn't move fast enough for us on what we believe to be our time schedule, and may end up missing out on the blessing because of it. The Israelites were very good at complaining even after God had blessed them time and time again. He always came through for them, but as soon as God blessed them they went right back to complaining. It's a way of being ungrateful for what He has done, and a sign of a lack of faith that He will do it again. So when we begin to complain and grumble we are really being ungrateful and without faith.
The truth of the matter is that God does not owe us anything. However, because of His favor, grace and mercy we are continuously being blessed by Him although we don't deserve it. We have to be very careful not to take it for granted.
So, as God spoke to me yesterday it was a reminder to humble myself. Psalm 46:10 reminds us to “be still and know that I am God”. (KJV) That means knowing that He will bless us in His own time and that He will come through for us right on time even when it's not on our time.
Let us learn from the Israelites and not complain, grumble and dishonor God while we're waiting. They had to pay for their behavior and attitude every single time.
LESSON: It's just not enough to be willing to wait, but we have to wait with a grateful heart and with a praise on our lips in anticipation of the blessing.
