Jesus paid a very heavy price just so those of us who believe in Him for their salvation would receive grace and be made righteous before God, for what? So our communication line with God would be opened. It wasn’t enough for God the Father that He could speak to His people through prophets and dreams. He came up with a better plan. His plan was to rip the veils that separated the Most Holy Place where He dwelled and make us righteous in Jesus Christ so now His precious Holy Spirit can dwell right within us.
Holy Spirit is a Person, and when the Bible said He will teach, guide, counsel, comfort and help us in prayer, it meant there would be a dialog. I have found myself guilty of the grocery-list kind of prayer many a times. As soon as I had finished unloading my requests I would walk away burden free without waiting to hear what God’s Holy Spirit had to say. If we ever walked out on our best friend soon after sharing all our concerns with them, would we still remain friends? Further would we continue in a relationship where a so-called friend consistently dumps their pain and sorrow on us and never has time to hear out our heart?
God’s precious Holy Spirit is with and in us to hear our hearts, to provide everything we need in our spiritual lives and also to impart God’s goodness in and through our lives. When we appreciate and build our fellowship with God’s Holy Spirit we truly make our relationship with God fruitful.
Let us then remember “The grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (so be it).” 2 Corinthians 13:14 (AMP)
