Many people are operational in the church but operate in the spirit of rebellion. To be rebellious is refusal to come under submission to authorized leadership. There is authorized leadership and unauthorized leadership. Authorized leadership is established authorities within an organization. In secular organizations such as business established authorities are those such as directors, managers, or supervisors. Unauthorized authorities are those who place themselves in such positions but have not been rightfully appointed by the chief leader or a chief executive officer. Rebellion is the organized uprising for the purpose of overthrowing an established leader. Rebellion coerces others to follow them in their evil-doings.
The problem with the spirit of rebellion is there are serious consequences naturally and spiritually. The Bible shares that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. We know that all unrighteousness is sin and the wages of sin is death. Rebellious individuals in the church are those who always have something to say about leadership. Rebellious individuals operate in the spirit of pride and believe they are the only ones who can do something right. You will usually find them speaking derogatory of the pastor and the set authorities. God hates rebellion. He loves the person but hates the act of rebellion that they choose to be a part of their lives.
Rebellion can cause you to become separated from God. It can cause your lands to become dry. The good news is that there is hope and that hope is Jesus Christ. There are many biblical examples of those who once operated in rebellion but repented and chose to operate in God’s ways. Today, there is also hope for you. God can bring you out of the dry lands of rebellion and restore unto you all that the enemy has stolen from you.
Steps to Breaking the Chains of Rebellion:
Step 1: Repent and denounce every form of rebellion in your life.
Step 2: Learn to walk in the wisdom of God’s word.
Step 3: Separate yourself from people who choose to walk in rebellion.
Step 4: Seek God through prayer and study of His word to stay in His perfect will for your life.
Step 5: Learn how to say NO to the devil.
