This scripture should be very familiar to anyone attending church. It is among the most common scripture cited for the
benediction. Some look at it as the final blessing before leaving church and others just can’t wait to hear these final words that indicate service is “finally” over.
I choose to look at it as a blessing! Words that should encourage you to live a more pleasing lifestyle before God, and words that should change your entire attitude toward things throughout the day.
These words indicate that it is time to watch your mouth, and speak good and not evil. Don’t gripe or complain, but keep words of peace and joy in your mouth. Watch and guard your heart because out of it flow the issues of life. Grab hold of your deeper self and bring it in line with God’s Word and God’s will for your life. Keep the words and the thoughts of your heart acceptable in the eyes of your Lord. God is the Redeemer of your soul. Alone this is impossible. But with God you can handle it. Line your words up with His word!
Are your thoughts and words acceptable unto Him?
