Matthew 6:28-30 says “And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?" (NLT)
God our Father Himself desires to dress us up with clothing and grandeur richer than Solomon. He has clothed us with His very presence, through His Son our wonderful Savior Jesus Christ. You know, how a child behaves is a great example of his/her upbringing. A child is a reflection of the people who have been behind his/her growth and development. Since God Himself is our Father, Jesus our Savior and Friend and God's precious Holy Spirit our Teacher and Guide, how should our behavior be as a child of God? Better yet, are we listening to the guidance of our Heavenly Father? We can learn only if we humble ourselves and listen to His voice and are obedient.
“13 Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. 14 Instead, clothe yourself with the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. And don’t let yourself think about ways to indulge your evil desires.” Romans 13:13 (NLT)
