You and I have a choice to make when the fiery trials occurs. We can give up on God or we can give in to God. Read the Book of Nehemiah...it gives clarity and encouragement to that whenever we face trouble, we must deal with rubble.
In Nehemiah chapter 4 the people faced their giants, now they are back in the land whistling while they work on rebuilding the wall. They worked with all their heart. Then discouragement sets in. When Sanballat, (an enemy of the Jews), heard that they were rebuilding the wall, he became angry and was greatly incensed. He ridiculed GOD'S people.
Whenever you attempt to get involved in the work of God, you will always encounter opposition. fatigue, frustration and fear were the cause of the people's discouragement. It is imperative to remember who GOD IS!!! After looking everything over and sensing the discouragement within his team, Nehemiah rallied his troops in Nehemiah 4:14: “Don’t be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome…” Nehemiah knew, even in the face of opposition, that the success of the wall was wholly dependent upon GOD who inspired its beginning. They needed to remember GOD and what HE had promised.
The rubble was there in the beginning. When they started the project they were focused on God and His character. If you choose to focus on all the junk in your life, and/or in the lives of others, you will become discouraged. Face your troubles head on and deal with the rubble. But most importantly, while you are rebuilding the rubble, keep your gaze on GOD...not on the garbage around you.
